Project Overview

BIARRITZ brought together international twilight zone research activities to advance understanding of mesopelagic carbon cycling and improve climate predictions. The project coordinated observations, modeling efforts, and technology development across multiple nations to address key uncertainties in biological carbon pump efficiency.

My role involved coordinating autonomous platform observations and sensor development activities, working with international partners to standardize measurement approaches and share best practices for glider-based twilight zone research.

The project contributed to improved understanding of particle dynamics and carbon export processes, providing critical data for refining climate models and informing future research priorities.
